Day Leadership Academy is committed to supporting youth in underrepresented areas by meeting their essential needs and empowering them to thrive. With the winter season approaching, we are conducting a winter wear drive to provide essential cold-weather gear such as hats, scarves, gloves, mittens, ear warmers and new or gently used coats for youth who may otherwise lack access to these necessities.

Many children and teens in underserved communities face the winter season without adequate warm essentials, which not only impacts their health and safety but also limits their participation in school and community activities. Exposure to harsh winter conditions without proper gear can lead to increased illness, missed school days, and decreased well-being. By organizing a youth winter wear drive, we aim to alleviate this burden for families and help youth stay warm, healthy, and engaged in learning. This drive targets youth ages 5 to 18 years old.

Calling All Youth! Earn Community Service Hours While Making a Difference: Students in 5th - 12th grades are invited to help sort and package winter wear items and serve hot cocoa to youth and families during the winter wear giveaway. This is a great way to give back to the community, gain volunteer experience, and fulfill school community service requirements. Every hour contributed counts toward the student’s service goals.
