The Great Days Leadership Academy
“Every step we take, every actionable move we make will prepare our youth to become critical thinkers who are confident leaders.”
Founder and Executive Director – Heather B. Day
The love for youth is deeply rooted in the heart of Heather B. Day. Serving the community and helping others, especially the underrepresented, is equally important to her. At an early age, Mrs. Day learned the importance of giving back from her father and mother. As such, it was naturally easy for her to model the behavior she learned from them, and she has been an active contributor in her community for over three decades.
Mrs. Day spent 16 years as an analyst at The Boeing Company in corporate finance, budgeting, project management, and program planning responsible for nearly $1B in government contracts. Since advancing from corporate employment to entrepreneurship, Mrs. Day now operates an online retail and cosmetic business, is a leadership instructor, a Missouri certified substitute teacher, Executive Director of The Great Days Leadership Academy.
Heather has a Bachelor of Finance from Alabama A&M University, a Master of Business Administration from Webster University, certifications in Project Management from Washington University, a certificate in Supervisory Management from the University of Alabama, Huntsville and training in DEI&B, and Leadership. She is a member of several community volunteer organizations and has been married to Darian Day Sr. for 14 years. They have three beautiful children: Rylee, Ryen and Darian Day Jr.
“If you can't fly then run, if you can't run then walk, if you can't walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.”
