Day Leadership Academy (DLA) seeks to foster excellence in unity, education, social interaction, healthy habits, and career development to prepare students to succeed personally and professionally. DLA courses and programs target black families and allies in grades 5th to 12th. We implement our five leadership platforms through in-person and online courses, conferences, and travel.
We offer a Signature Leadership Program for all students in grade 5th to 12th, and education made fun programs in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Our Arts program offers diverse opportunities in the following:

Visual Arts: Painting, Drawing, Sculpture, and Photography

Performing Arts: Music (instrumental and vocal), Film and Video, and Theater.

Literary Arts: Poetry, Fiction and Non-fiction writing, and Drama for written works intended for performance, including plays, scripts, and screenplays.

Decorative Arts: Textile: sewing and crocheting and Glass Art.

Digital and New Media: Digital Art created using digital technology.
Programs in civic leadership and faith-based resources provide opportunities for civic engagement and access to religious education empowers young people to develop their leadership skills while also connecting with their community and spiritual values.

Other priorities will focus on student trajectory, building a stronger community of family networks, and college and career preparation. Creating experiences that address etiquette and social grace, build healthy friendships amongst students, and offer mental and emotional support improve how students handle stress, relate to others, and make healthy choices.

The Day Leadership Academy is a nonprofit organization dedicated to prioritizing and educating black students in grades 5th - 12th, their families, and allies. Our organization is uniquely designed to unify black students and allies, connect families, foster self-honor, improve education outcomes, and cultivate confident and compassionate young leaders. Our mission is to invest time, provide tools and resources, and create positive experiences for youth to transform into productive, active, and flourishing citizens. We aspire to prepare black youth and allies to thrive as adults by attaining the necessary skills to realize full potential and build strong networks.
